I really don’t think life is about the I-could-have-beens. Life is only about the I-tried-to-do. I don’t mind the failure but I can’t imagine that I’d forgive myself if I didn’t try.” – Nikki Giovanni, African-American Poet

I’ve been incubating a cultural virus from the blogoshpere for two months now and it’s giving me a terrible itch I have to do something about it. Yes, a virus! It’s called “meme” (pron. meem). Richard Dawkins, coined the term “meme,” defined it as:

…a unit of cultural transmission, or a unit of imitation… Just like genes propagating themselves by leaping from brain to brain via a process, called imitation.

Meme travels through the blogosphere, partly from brain to brain as one has to answer them, but technically, from page to page, leaving a trail that can be monitored through what they call the linking system.

What is its effect then? The originator of the meme will boost his/her ranking through the Technorati or any other system which considers “backlinking”!  That is the principal effect of this virus. Popularity, more visitors, economic satisfaction perhaps?! (more visitors=more pubblicity impressions).   Am I right?

Memes can be a key in the evolution of culture. But if memes diffuses uncontrollably, our thoughts will just become a “copy-paste-product” than original creations. The culture of the blogosphere will cease to advance and will only self-replicate. If this will happen, the blogosphere will just become a reproduction, with selfish end for popularity system.

I am still new in the blogosphere, my observation about the dynamics of this meme virus is open for critical thinking. I said it’s giving me a terrible itch, because its symptoms manifest only to one thing: to talk about yourself!

I am not keen about interviewing myself per se. I can talk about personal experiences like what I’ve observed and learned just like what my blog is all about.

So, what am going to do with this virus? I am going to group them together, make an ultimate vaccine shot by replying once and for all! I am not going  to replicate each questions like an interview portion. I will answer them in my own way like what I did with the second meme I received.

Here are some secrets of my realm.

In blogging, your journal will always be immaculate and have a touch of style. You may also feel overwhelmed because you want to be a part of everything going on. Because of your wonderful memory, other bloggers may come to you to ask about things you posted months before.

I definitely  agree with these results:
