Borrowed thoughts, like borrowed money, only show the poverty of the borrower. - Lady Marguerite Blessington, Countess of Blessington
Have you ever discovered your post in another site without being duly recognized as the original source of its contents? Or someone else has plagiarized your work as their own and you get wrongly accused of plagiarism?
Sad to say, I discovered some of my posts in various blogsites, in its entirety without any due credits.
I do not know if I will be flattered that they liked my posts so much they took it as their own or should I show pity for these bloggers for their intellectual poverty?
According to this site which specializes in plagiarism:
“Changing the words of an original source is not sufficient to prevent plagiarism. If you have retained the essential idea of an original source, and have not cited it, then no matter how drastically you may have altered its context or presentation, you have still plagiarized.”
Plagiarism is an ancient craft. Famous personalities from literature, entertainment, history, academia, politics, journalism, science, etc were/are involved. The blogoshpere is half-filled with bloggers who paraphrase or worse, lazy copycats who did not even mind of editing but just copied and pasted on their own site without giving proper linking to the author.
Should I call them textual vampire? Content or intellectual thief? Well, they are just devoid of any imaginations, experiences, style and grey matters.
However, my appreciation goes to Mhaya , Tyriel , Bien Zoleta, Joiei and many others for linking back to my posts.

hello ms. ross!
Good day! Ü
I was visiting my friendster blog and I was surprised to know that there was a comment from QUOTES IN CAN.
I would like to apologize if in one way or another I have caused you aggravation and pain by re-posting your posts in my blog site. I will tell you honestly that I love your site and I do visit it often. I read your compositions and collection of quotes because I find them very interesting and enlightening. I do copy your posts and paste them to my own blog site, with the intention of sharing it to others and NOT to make it appear as my own.
For every copied post that I add to my site, I make it a point to specify my source. I have plenty of things in my site that was not originally mine, like newspaper articles and song lyrics, but I do specify my source, it may not always have the writer’s name on it but I do indicate the website or link.
When I was in high school, I was a contributor to our school paper and in my senior year I was it’s literary editor. I was a writer (well, obviously not as good as you! Ü) and I understand how it feels when someone has stolen your work and takes credit from it. Creating an article, composing your thoughts and finding inspiration is not easy! It’s more than just hard work, sometimes you put a part of yourself to it…sometimes, a writer puts a piece of himself to his work thus making it very personal and the thought of someone else taking credit from it is crazy!
Again, I do apologize if ever my actions made you feel violated and hurt.
I hope and pray that this note, rather very long comment, finds you in good health and better disposition.
God bless and more power!
PS
sana hindi pa ako banned from your site…
I sometimes envy you… hehehehe
I sometimes I miss my “writing” days… kaya lang dahil sa sobrang busy ko, it’s really hard to find time and compose my thoughts.

Hello Mhaya,
Thank you for visiting my site often even if it is not updated as I used to do. Please be at peace because in my post I noted my appreciation to you and to others who stated their source of their non-original articles.
I checked your site and you really did a good job by linking back. Those sites I was referring to has a link in some words in the firt part of my post.
If you will re-read my post, you will find out out that you did not give me any pain or aggravation at all rather happiness and appreciation.
You are not banned, why should I? Thank you again for finding time to read my blog in spite of your tight schedule.
Cheers to life!
Ross
