I THINK, THEREFORE I BLOG
‘Writing to me is simply thinking through my fingers.” Isaac Asimov
I started writing my blog not solely for an audience but as a channel for my thoughts, my experiences, my passions and my addiction to quotes. I didn’t realize the power of the Good Spirit will accompany my words and give life to them. A Life that breathes inspiration and touches my reader’s heart and mind.
When I think and put it into writing, it is like sowing a seed. I do not know what will happen to that seed. Will it grow and bear fruits?
After three months of sowing, I can see my seeds growing slowly through a positive response from my readers. Some never commented on my posts but they showed their presence by nominating me among the top 10 emerging and influential blogs or blogging to fame . Others would add me up to technoractic and subscribe to my feeds.
Some became my friends and met them in real life, the rest remained faceless friends and leave their marks on my posts, add me up in their blogrolls or transmit me a blogger’s virus called meme perhaps thinking I have something nutty to say … and the latest??
Tadan!!!
I have been given the Thinking Blogger Award by AcquireWisdom !! Isn’t it great?? The Good Spirit made him think or better still, reflect?!!
I think, therefore I blog is a parody of Cogito ergo sum and it is what I am! Thank you Sam of Acquire Wisdom and for everyone who has been touch by the Good Spirit…PAX et BONUM!!!
The originator of the award, Ilker Yoldas at The Thinking Blog has some rules:
- If, and only if, you get tagged, write a post with links to 5 blogs that make you think
- Link to this post so that people can easily find the exact origin of the meme
- Optional: Proudly display the ‘Thinking Blogger Award’ with a link to the post that you wrote (here is an alternative silver version if gold doesn’t fit your blog). That was that! Please, remember to tag blogs with real merits, i.e. relative content, and above all - blogs that really get you thinking!
Now I would like to pass this award to:
Liz strauss - whose manifesto “I will live as a writer who keeps alive the music of the language, holds head and heart together in the words, and writes in hope and passion that one person will be better because he or she reads what I wrote” , inspired me to improve my contents.
Camille- whose unusual meme gave me the courage to face my past life.
Claudia -for her delicate and smooth flowing artistic insights.
Filipino Photographers - I like the expressions and life they have captured through their lens.
Janet - for her reflective thinking blog and her initiative to encourage a recognition for the top ten emerging influential blogs.
I’m posting Janet’s overall ranking of the blogs submitted for the third week so I could have the chance to know each one of them, except for myself of course! To each one of you, my kudos and hope that our mind will be an instrument for a “better world” within ourselves and outside us!

A scrupulous writer, in every sentence that he writes, will ask himself at least four questions, thus: 1. What am I trying to say? 2. What words will express it? 3. What image or idiom will make it clearer? 4. Is this image fresh enough to have an effect?” - George Orwell
This is pretty much what journals are all about, at least to me. I knew as I wrote them that even though they provided an excellent place for brain (and heart, and psyche) dump, they were mainly a map of me.” - Colleen Wainwright
Better to write for yourself and have no public, than to write for the public and have no self.”- Cyril Connolly
Even in literature and art, no man who bothers about originality will ever be original: whereas if you simply try to tell the truth (without caring twopence how often it has been told before) you will, nine times out of ten, become original without ever having noticed it.” - C.S. Lewis

Thoughts lead on to purpose, purpose leads on to actions, actions form habits, habits decide character, and character fixes our destiny” - Tryon Edwards
I think; therefore I am.” - Rene Descartes
Reading without reflecting is like eating without digesting.” -Edmund Burke
If you are going to win any battle, you have to do one thing. You have to make the mind run the body. Never let the body tell the mind what to do… the body is never tired if the mind is not tired.” - George Patton
Often the hands will solve a mystery that the intellect has struggled with in vain.” - Carl G. Jung
Thinking is easy, acting is difficult, and to put one’s thoughts into action is the most difficult thing in the world.” - Johann Wolfgang von Goethe
Belief is when someone else does the thinking.” - Buckminster Fuller
I have always thought the actions of men the best interpreters of their thoughts.” - John Locke
The trouble with most people is that they think with their hopes or fears or wishes rather than with their minds.” - Will Durant
Begin challenging your own assumptions. Your assumptions are your windows on the world. Scrub them off every once in awhile, or the light won’t come in.” - Alan Alda
Our minds are lazier than our bodies.” - François, Duc de La Rochefoucauld
The average man never really thinks from end to end of his life. The mental activity of such people is only a mouthing of clichés.” H.L. Mencken
Those who know how to think need no teachers.” - Mahatma Gandhi
People mistakenly assume that their thinking is done by their head; it is actually done by the heart which first dictates the conclusion, then commands the head to provide the reasoning that will defend it.” - Anthony de Mello
As you begin changing your thinking, start immediately to change your behaviour. Begin to act the part of the person you would like to become. Take action on your behaviour. Too many people want to feel, then take action. This never works.” - John Maxwell
I think-therefore I’m single.” - Lizz Winstead
You are educated. Your certification is in your degree. You may think of it as the ticket to the good life. Let me ask you to think of an alternative. Think of it as your ticket to change the world.” - Tom Brokaw
Most people are unable to write because they are unable to think, and they are unable to think because they congenitally lack the equipment to do so, just as they congenitally lack the equipment to fly over the moon.” - Henry Louis Mencken

No matter how vast your knowledge or how modest, it is your own mind that has to acquire it. It is only with your own knowledge that you can deal. It is only your own knowledge that you can claim to possess or ask others to consider. Your mind is your only judge of truth - and if others dissent from your verdict, reality is the court of final appeal. Nothing but a man’s mind can perform that complex, delicate, crucial process of identification which is thinking. Nothing can direct the process but his own judgment. Nothing can direct his judgment but his moral integrity.” - Ayn Rand

Happy Monday!

Janet,
you are welcome and you are worth it!
not because of your writing projects but of what you have done to the filipino blogging community and write ups!
Yes, I hope they will join your writing project.

Congrats on the award… I like your site. I love reading quotes… Reading them helps me to jumpstart the writing process when I’ve lost the blogging mojo (which seems to be frequent, lately). In fact, my last entry was full of so many quotes, hahaha.
I might as well tell you that… surfing your site actually inspired my last entry. Lately, my desire to blog has been waning. I said to myself, “Hmm, an entire site devoted to quotes. Neat. I should write an entry centred on the meaning of some quotes.” So there ya go, your BLOG DID GET ME TO THINK. You deserve the award!

Thank you Fruity!
Sometimes we undergo a process of being emptied…as if we have lost that A-HA! or the OH!! feeling.
Let it be…stay right there as it is the moment when you are being filled up!
Trust yourself and trust Life, you’ll be fine and you’ll be able to write again…better than before!
Cheers!
